Members, their families and guests are expected to always dress in a dignified manner consistent with the prestige and reputation of the Karachi Boat Club, and be sensitive to the culture and norms of the society we live in.

• Dining Areas (Harbour View, Creek View and Garden View): Jeans, sneakers (any form of athletic shoes), and T-Shirts without collar are not the permissible dress code in these dining halls. This restriction applies equally to gents and ladies unless specifically permitted for an event. Bush Shirts must be straight at the bottom preferably with vents and must not have tails.
• Rower’s Café and Summer House: Smart, non-faded/ripped jeans are allowed in the Rower’s Café and Summer House. Socks are not mandatory. Well-ironed National dress without waistcoat is permitted in the Rower’s Café.
• Where any event specifies a dress code (such as Formal, Smart Casual, or Casual) invited guests should check with the members on what that dress code entails.
• Club staff is required to enforce the Dress without exceptions. In the event that Member or a member of his family is approached by a member of the Club staff, they must respond with politeness and in a manner befitting a Member of the Karachi Boat Club.
• Club staff is required to inform the Member hosting guests in the event of any infringement of any Rule or the Dress Code by a guest. It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure that his guests abide by the Rules and the Dress Code.
• Whenever the National dress is worn it must be clean, well-ironed and un-crumpled.
• Ladies should dress as the occasion requires. On formal or informal occasions, ladies should wear appropriate formal clothing. On other occasions, ladies may wear the National dress or skirts, dresses, tailored trousers, jeans, etc. with a smart top or shirt in accordance with the Dress Code.
